It's OK to Keep All the Holiday Traditions Exactly the Same
While some like to break with tradition and do everything differently, others find comfort in continuing with the traditions developed over many years. Many people find the continuity comforting. It also helps them feel more connected to the person who died rather than less. For others, it's the exact opposite so do what feels right for you and yours.
You can do everything, from picking a tree to decorating the house to hang- ing the stockings, in the same way you always have. You can cook the same meal you've cooked for decades, set the same table, and bake the same cookies. It's all good and if these traditions are meaningful to you, continue them.
Planning this ahead of time, and making sure everyone is on board, will avoid potential land mines.
